Accounts Payable Associate Job Responsibilities:

·Research and handling of customer inquiries via email and inquiry systems (OneHub/Pulse, INSINQ, Stars)

·Validate and complete manual payment requests as assigned

·Processing of void and reissue requests according to departmental guidelines across all lines of business

·Research and handling of escalated issues as assigned within departmental SLAs

·Responsible for attaching appropriate documentation to checks for mailing

·Research address issues and make necessary updates for Check Not Cashed (CNC), Due diligence, and Medical Loss Ratio (MLR) returned check mail per departmental SLAs

·Assist with the Monthly Escheatable voids process

·Maintain appropriate logs for all activity processed.

·Responsible for the proper documentation of desk-level procedures

·Responsible for the opening, sorting, and logging of returned check mail

·Payments to providers/members are processed in a timely manner

·Works within established procedures with a moderate degree of supervision

·Assists with internal and cross-departmental projects as needed

·Assist with other duties assigned by management

Qualifications:

·Problem solving/analytical 

·Strong communication

·Ability to manage competing priorities

·Beginner to Intermediate experience with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook

 Hybrid:

Independence has implemented a “Hybrid” model which consists of Associates working in the office 3 days a week (Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday) and remotely 2 days a week (Monday & Friday). This role is designated as a role that fits into the “Hybrid” model. While associates may work remotely on our designated remote days, the work must be performed in the Tri-State Area of Delaware, New Jersey, or Pennsylvania
