Barista – Kitab Café (Hamtramck & Detroit)

We’re currently hiring baristas who are passionate about customer experience, comfortable in fast-paced environments, and eager to learn. What You’ll Be Doing
- Greet and engage customers with warmth and professionalism
- Take orders accurately and confidently — asking questions where needed
- Prepare coffee and specialty drinks according to our house recipes
- Handle food items like pastries and small bites
- Maintain a clean, organized work area during and after shifts
- Operate POS systems and handle cash/credit transactions
- Communicate with teammates and leadership to keep service running smoothly
- Flag issues with equipment or supplies when they arise
What We’re Looking For
- Some customer service or hospitality experience preferred (barista or server experience is great, but not required)
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail
- Able to stay calm and focused in a fast-paced environment
- Reliable, punctual, and willing to pick up responsibility without being asked
- Open to feedback and willing to learn our systems and standards
- Flexible availability, including weekends and mornings
Bonus If You Have
- Prior experience with espresso machines or café service
- Knowledge of food safety or sanitation practices
- Ability to multitask during rushes without compromising quality
