General Summary The Customer Service Representative provides exceptional support to customers across multiple divisions. This role involves engaging with customers, order processing, proactive selling, issue resolution, and coordination with internal teams to ensure an excellent customer experience.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities The intent of this job description is to provide a representative summary of the major duties and responsibilities performed by employees in this job. Employees may be requested to perform job-related tasks other than those specifically presented in this description. - Engage, support, and manage customers and accounts.
- Enter and process orders using multiple integrated platforms.
- Communicate internally and externally, answering inbound calls/emails and making outbound calls/emails.
- Troubleshoot and resolve customer issues related to orders, deliveries, invoices, credits, and service.
- Proactively suggest product substitutions, upsell relevant items, and advise of new products and promotions.
- Maintain and organize customer and company records (CRM, proformas, invoices, POs).
- Generate and interpret sales and customer data using Excel and Power BI.
- Collaborate with warehouse, sales, and management teams to ensure customer satisfaction and improve workflows.
- Review and confirm order accuracy, pricing verification, and inventory availability.
- Assist with setting up and coordinating small parcel shipment deliveries.
- Provide backup support to other CSR roles and receptionist duties as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements Required Education and Experience - High school diploma or equivalent required (college degree a plus).
- 3+ years of customer service experience, preferably in specialty food or distribution.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel); familiarity with Power BI and Business Central systems preferred.
Knowledge Of COMPETENCIES FOR SUCCESSFUL PERFORMANCE OF JOB DUTIES - MS Word and MS Excel
- Power BI and Business Central proficiency a plus.
Skill In - Friendly and professional phone/email communication.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability To - Multitask, work under deadlines, and troubleshoot independently.
- Be team-oriented with a positive attitude and willingness to “pitch in.”
- Utilize an analytical mindset with basic reporting capabilities.
- Demonstrate a strong problem-solving skills in a fast-paced environment.
