We are seeking a Locums Emergency General Surgery Physician Assistant (PA) to support a high-volume surgical service in Asheville, North Carolina. This is a daytime, non-operative role ideal for an experienced PA with a background in acute care surgery.
This is primarily a non-operative role.
Schedule:
Full-Time and Part-Time opportunities available
Choose between Three 12-hour shifts or Four 10-hour shifts per week
Shifts run Monday through Thursday, 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM (for 10s) or adjusted per 12-hour format
Clinical Responsibilities:
Round on pre-operative and post-operative floor patients
Assist with new surgical consults and coordinate patient care
Collaborate closely with surgical attendings and residents
May participate in post-operative outpatient clinic visits
Manage a wide range of acute surgical conditions, including:
Abdominal pain
Appendicitis
Gallbladder disease
Bowel obstructions
Hernias
Diverticulitis
Pancreatitis
Perforated viscus
Soft tissue infections
Qualifications:
·Experience in acute surgical care and familiarity with emergency general surgery conditions preferred
·Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively in a team-based setting
·Current North Carolina license and DEA (or ability to obtain)
·ACLS/BLS certification preferred
