Due to our continuous expansion, English First Tianjin is looking to enlarge our teaching team. We need qualified and experienced teachers to join our professional and hard working team. You will be part of a team of committed teachers who can add value to the school in many ways.

Teach English in Tianjin

Tianjin is located 85 miles east of Beijing, near the coast. The capital can be reached in half an hour by fast train. As China’s third largest city with a population of over 10 million people, Tianjin has a rich history and has witnessed many important events since it was given its name in 1404. Evidence of its history is still visible in the old British and Italian concessions, the port and European architectures.

The best known scenic spots and historical sites include the Panshan Scenery Area, the Park on the Water, the Garden of Tranquility, the Palace of Heavenly Empress and even a section of the Great Wall of China at the Huangya Pass.

Main Responsibilities

– Contract duration: minimum 15 months
– Maximum of 20 – 26 hours teaching per week (depending on peak or non-peak periods)
– Maximum 20 admin hours per week
– Lesson planning
– Use audio / video materials in classes
– Cooperate with the CM and DOS in ensuring the constructive communication and efficient operation of the centre
– Assist in the placement testing and interviewing of new students
– Carry out teaching related responsibilities including, but not limited to demonstration classes, conversation clubs, tutorials, seminars and presentations
– Attend centre social events

Compensation

Total monthly package value of 20,500 – 24,000 RMB per month, which breaks down as follows:

– Excellent salary: 15,500 – 19,500 RMB per month depending on experience
– Free accommodation: Western style, furnished, near the school OR 3,500 RMB monthly allowance
– Flight allowance: 10,000 RMB per 15 months (paid in 2 intervals)
– Relocation allowance for teachers already in China: 3,500 RMB
– Contract completion bonus: 12,000 RMB per 15 months
– Loyalty bonus: one-month basic salary (net) for each subsequent contract signed
– Referral bonus: 6,000 RMB per referral
– Performance bonus (KPI): 2,000 RMB per quarter(based on latest policy)
– Overtime hourly pay: 200 RMB
– Summer performance bonus: 1,000 RMB per month for July & August(based on latest policy)
– Legal ‘Z’ work visa provided (plus visa costs)
– 11 days public holidays plus 13 days extra holidays
– Airport pickup

– Coaching & continuous development (workshops/training etc.)
– General day to day support (bank account, mobile phone, online shopping doctors etc.)
– Chinese Town (Free Chinese Lessons) + HSK level face to face lessons
– Bi-annual performance appraisal and review

– Legal documents for duration of employment (FEC / resident permit / registration cards / medical) reimbursed on arrival for initial costs
– Welcome packs (including subway card, basic arrival necessities etc.)
– Two weeks’ training on arrival before teaching

– Certification (bi-annual in house training and Cambridge TKT examination)
– TEFL course and certificate (if needed)

Requirements

– Bachelor’s degree (authenticated and notarised from an English speaking country)
– TEFL / TESOL / CELTA certification preferred (if no TEFL, the school will pay for a Foundation TEFL course)
– Native English speaker / passport holder from UK, USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand or South Africa
– We can also consider candidates with passports from Europe and Jamaica, provided you have a degree from an English speaking country or a Master’s degree and 2 years of teaching experience
– At least 22 years old
– Plenty of passion and energy
– Currently living in China
